Bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in the UK but can be entirely preventable by detecting and removing the polyps which have a propensity to turn malignant.
Bowel Cancer Symptoms
Symptoms that should be investigated are;
- Rectal bleeding / change in bowel habit
- Rectal bleeding without anal symptoms
- Persistent change in bowel habit ( more than 6 weeks)
- Iron deficient anaemia
- Palpable abdominal or rectal mass
Some people however will not have symptoms
