Colorectal Symptoms that need to be investigated

1. Rectal bleed – especially dark stool and blood mixed in the stool
2. Black tar like stool
3. Change in bowel habit lasting more than 4 weeks ie diarrhoea / constipation
4. Mass / Lump protruding at anal verge
5. Symptoms and signs of anaemia eg blood test shows iron deficiency / anaemia
6. Positive faecal occult blood test
7. Faecal urgency – urge to defecate without relief
8. Faecal incontinence
9. Pain at / or discharge from anus
10. Pain at / or discharge / or lump in natal cleft
